Capolavoro — Italian for “masterpiece” — is a dark exotic quartzite. Black and charcoal form the base; bronze and brown veining moves across it in wavy bands, with rust and cream accents catching the light. Bookmatched pairs read as a single, mirrored composition.
Finish, thickness, and bookmatched slab format
Capolavoro is stocked as a leathered quartzite: a matte finish with a subtle tactile texture that hides fingerprints and water spots better than a polished surface. Available in 20mm and 30mm slab thicknesses, with bookmatched pairs for waterfall edges, feature walls, and continuous-veining island tops. Why quartzite (and not quartz)
Quartzite is a natural metamorphic stone — sandstone recrystallized under heat and pressure — not a manufactured slab. It is harder than granite, more heat-resistant than resin-bound engineered quartz, and each slab is one-of-one.
